Easy Methods to Bypass the Locked Screen
You can hack into your android phone or tab in many different ways. We have here mentioned some of the easiest methods to bypass the locked screen on your android phone. Hopefully, you will find at least one useful and it will help you to get back into your phone.
Using the ‘Forgot Pattern’ feature
This is the basic and first thing that comes to mind when we want to bypass the lock on our android. If the android version of your phone or tab is 4.4 or lower than that, you can use this feature. After you are unable to unlock the screen after 5 tries, a message will flash at the bottom asking you to try after 30 seconds. When this comes, tap on the button on the bottom that says ‘Forgot Pattern’. After choosing this, go for the option that says ‘Enter Google account details’. Then you will have to enter your Gmail Account and your password(this may also depend on your device). Google will then either facilitate changing your password/pattern, etc. right there or it will send you an email that shows you the unlock password or pattern that you had set on your phone.
You can use the ADB to delete the Password File
This option is a little dicey. This will work only if you had made some changes in your android prior to forgetting the password/pattern of your phone/tab. This will work only and only if you had previously enabled the USB debugging feature on your phone. Even after enabling the USB debugging, this method is useful only and only if the computer that you are using to allow to connect through ADB. In case you have done all this, this one of the best ways to unlock your android.
Firstly, connect your phone to the computer. You can do so with the help of a USB cable. Then open a command prompt window, type adb shell rm /data/system/gesture.key and press enter.
You will then have to restart your android. Once it starts, it will no longer ask for a password/pattern.
Though you will be able to access the phone once you restart it, it will be temporary only. Hence it is strongly recommended to set a new password/pattern once it restarts. Please remember to do this before you shut down your phone again.
Unlock by using Google’s ‘Find my Device’ webpage
Android Lock Screen Removal using the ‘Find my Device’ feature is one of the best and basic methods to do so. Till you are logged into your Google account, you can use this feature for any device or computer. To remove your android screen lock, follow the under-written steps.
Firstly, click the ‘lock’ button once the ‘Find my Device’ gets a fix on your android. It might happen that the service will experience a few problems initially to find your device. You can press the refresh button a couple of times for this. But then it will probably make a connection, the speed depending on your phone’s compatibility.
Once you click on the ‘lock’ button, you will be asked to enter a new password which will go on to take the place of your old password/pattern. You will have to enter your new pattern/password once more in order to confirm it. After doing so, you will then have to click on the ‘lock’ button. The new password will replace your old one in 5 minutes at the most, after which you can access your android with the new password/pattern.
This feature usually only works for android versions 7.1.1 Nougat or lower. It does not work for versions that are android 8.0 or above.
Remove Android Lock Screen by booting into the Safe Mode
You can use this method when the lock that you are trying to bypass is related to a specific app and not the main screen lock of the android. To bypass such an android lock, booting the phone into safe mode is the best method.
To boot into safe mode, firstly bring up the power menu from the lock screen. After that, once you long press the option that says ‘Power Off’ will lead to your phone asking you if you want to reboot into safe mode. Click on ‘Ok’ there. Once the whole thing finishes, it will lead to the pattern/password on your specific app to be temporarily disabled.
The disabling of the lock on the specific app will only be temporary. Once the thing finishes, you can simply uninstall the specific app. Then just reboot the phone. This will lead it out of the safe mode. When you install the app again, the password/pattern wil be gone.
Android Lock Screen Removal by crashing the lock screen UI
In case your device is encrypted and is of the Android version 5.0-5.1.1, following this method will help to remove the password lock that is there on your phone.
To get rid of the password on your phone, firstly click on the option that says ‘Emergency Call’. After doing so, the dialer pad will appear on your screen. Dial into it 10 asterisks. Then long press on them and once they are copied, paste them again in the dialer. You will have to continue doing this until long pressing on the asterisks no longer highlights the asterisks.
Then you will have to go back to the lock screen. Access the camera shortcut from there. From there, you will have to pull down the bar of notifications, then tapping on the icon that says ‘settings’. Then long press on the box where you have to enter the password. Then amongst the options, click on ‘paste’. Repeat it multiple times until the lock screen of your Android crashes. This will enable you to access your Android’s interface.
This method will only work in case you forgot the password on your phone. It will not work in case of patterns, pins, etc.
Android Lock Screen Removal by Samsung’s ‘Find my Mobile’ service
